    STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

For the full recipe, see recipe further below.

Start by melting the butter over medium heat.

Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar into a bowl and add the melted butter. Using a hand whisk, whisk it together for 1-2 min.

Add the egg and egg yolk one at a time and mix it in. Then add the vanilla extract and mix it in.

In a seperate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Then add it into wet ingredients. With a rubber spatula, fold it together until just combined.

Add the chocolate chips and fold it into the dough until combined.

Cover the dough with some cling film and let it chill for 30 min in the fridge.

Turn on the oven at 190°C.

Take the dough out of the fridge and use a big cookie scooper or some spoons and add 6 cookies on one tray and 3 on another that’s lined with baking paper.

Bake one tray at a time for 13-14 min.

Once baked, let the cool down on the tray for a couple of minutes as they still will be soft in the middle when they are done. After they have cooled down a bit use a spatula to lift them in to a cooling rack and sprinkle them with some sea salt. It really complements the chocolate in the cookie. If you’re not a fan you can also skip this.

HOW TO FREEZE THEM AND BAKE

Cookies are best enjoyed fresh. If you don’t want to make all 9 at once, pre-scoop the cookie dough and add the cookie dough scoops into an airtight container, and place them in the freezer.

Once you want to freshly bake a cookie, just take it out of the freezer. Let it thaw for 1-2 hours or until a cold room temperature and bake as instructed in the recipe.

    STORAGE

Store these chocolate chip cookies in a cookie jar or an airtight container. They are best enjoyed within a few days.
